CAPEDS(Committee for Assisting and Promoting Education of the Disabled in Sudan) is a committee organized to support the education for the disabled in Sudan, situated in northern Africa.
Sudan is the largest country on the continent, with a population of 35 million. The number of the disabled in this country is estimated at around 2 million and most of them are lacking access to the education. That is why, CAPEDS, aims at promoting and supporting the education for the disabled in Sudan.
We are focusing on people with visual impairments for the moment, however, we aim at supporting the education for the disabled, regardless of the type of impairments. We will thus collaborate closely with other organizations in Sudan/ Japan, engaged in disability issues.
